Success Path Level 4 - Union Level Self Starter

You’re booking union level work, in funded projects that will likely be seen by the public. There is massive competition for work at this level and if you’re booking it, you’re beating the odds for sure.

Many of your gigs are paid, though some may be deferred payment, which is totally fine as you are still building your network, your resume, and your footage.

At this level, you are well into the ‘professional actor’ phase of your career. Well done!

Your focus now is on simply growing what you have - your marketing materials may have become messy, due to footage from many projects, pics from many headshot shoots, and old scenes you love but that just aren’t current anymore. This is the time to refine, and really only show your absolute best, current work.

At this point, networking becomes easier as you’ll have access to better people and better events. This is the time to take advantage of what you’ve accomplished and use it as a stepping stone to level up.

Level 4 is termed ‘union level’ rather than ‘union member’, as many actors in right to work States may never choose to join the union.

However, if you are at a Level 4, you are working on professional, paid projects - many of which are being produced under SAG-AFTRA contracts and have known names attached, regardless of your personal union status.
